I have never met a piece of junk that didn’t intrigue and inspire me! Hi I’m Chris and this is my blog, The Peach Engine. I love the creativity involved in decorating, the rush I get when I find a solution or a purpose for something that is useful, creative, and beautiful. If you love re-purposing the old and discarded, looking for unique and creative ways to decorate and organize your home on a budget, then you’ve come to the right place.
I live with my sweetheart Ed, a self-employed contractor/sports official/audio engineer, our two dogs Sammy and Brody (trouble makers!), and the king of the castle, Sebastien the cat in Troutdale, Oregon an eastern suburb of Portland which is situated at the west end of The Columbia River Gorge. I work as a Registrar at a high school. My dream job is to blog full time! 🙂 We love taking road trips and laughing together. Between the two us, there are five children and six grandchildren. We love spending time with them.
I believe we get out of life what we put into it. My hope is that I will inspire and empower my readers and in return I know that I will have a place to share my creativity and receive support and encouragement from like-minded individuals.
My motto is this: Life is subjective and based on perspective. Surround yourself with things that you think are beautiful. Welcome, with open arms, an open heart and an open mind, those that you love. Nurture those needing support, and shield your heart and soul from those whose actions come from a place other than that of love. If you do these things you will always have a beautiful home, a sanctuary were you can revitalize and rejuvenate, and an environment that lends itself to celebrations and creating memories.
